NPC RULES AND PROCEDURE

PREJUDGING

Attire

During the prejudging a solid color suit will be worn. Suits of metallic nature are not allowed. There will be no “T” suits or “G” strings worn. The style of suit that will be worn at the actual competition must be worn at the weigh-in especially at all National competitions. No jewelry or hair ornaments will be allowed at the prejudging. Female bodybuilders are permitted to wear jewelry and hair ornaments at the evening competition. Numbers will be worn on the left side of the suit.

Scoring

The Placement System is used for scoring the contest. Each round is considered to be equally important, however only one placing will be marked on the judges score sheet for each contestant. The final placing for each competitor is a reflection of the combination of all three rounds. Notes should be kept on each competitor so that a judge can tell a competitor where they excelled or where improvement is needed.

When calculating the scores from the 7 judges, the highest and lowest scores are discarded. The remaining 5 scores are added together. The contestant with the lowest score wins and the rest are placed accordingly.

Prejudging – Elimination Round

If there are more than 15 competitors in a weight class the elimination round will be done. All of the competitors will be brought out in groups of 8 competitors at a time. The group will be directyed to do Relaxed quarter turns and the Mandatory poses so that the judges are able to see the overall level of competition. No placings are decided during this round. At this time the judges will be deciding the top 15 competitors.

Individual Posing Round

Each of the top 15 competitors will then perform their Individual Posing Routine. The Routine is done with no music and is limited to 60 seconds with a 10 second warning. During this round the judges will be focusing on how well the contestant is able to “present their physique” – showing both muscular and symmetrical development. The moon pose has been banned by the NPC and the IFBB and will not be allowed at either phase of the competition. If it is done it will result in immediate disqualification from the competition.

Mandatory Comparison Round

After each contestant has finished their Individual Posing Routines, they are brought out as a group in numerical order. The head judge will call them out in groups of 3-5 and direct them through the Mandatory poses. There are seven for women and eight for men. The judges will take this time to assess muscular development (See Judging criteria, Muscular development). The Side Chest and Side Tricep poses may be done from either side.

During the Prejudging, the judges look for a balance of size, symmetry and muscularity. The judges may ask to see certain competitors together for comparisons.

The judges then mark their score sheets, consisting of a single placing for each competitor based on all three rounds of posing.

Evening Finals

The competitors perform their Individual Posing Routine to their choice of music. The time limit is 90 seconds. Female bodybuilders are permitted to wear jewelry and hair ornaments. Some competitions, if there are a lot of competitors, are forced to limit Individual Posing at the Finals to the top 5 competitors. Check with the promoter of the event for details.

Awards Presentation

The emcee will call out the top 5 finalists in numerical order. The emcee will announce the final placings starting with 5th place and working up to first place. Each trophy is awarded as the placing is announced.

Overall Posedown

Each Weight Class Winner advances into the Overall Posedown. The Head Judge guides them through the quarter turns and the Mandatory poses. They are then given 30 seconds of free posing with some background music. While the free posing is being done, the judges give their sheets to the head judge so that the scores can be tallied. The competitor with the lowest score is the overall winner.

 

NPC JUDGING CRITERIA

The sport of bodybuilding represents the balanced muscular development of the physique. The quality of this development is determined by the overall assessment of these areas:

  • PRESENTATION
  • SIZE – MUSCULAR DEVELOPMENT
  • SYMMETRY – BALANCE OF THE PHYSIQUE
  • MUSCULARITY – LACK OF BODYFAT

It is imperative to remember that each category is of equal importance. The judges will submit one final placing for each competitor after the completion of all three rounds of posing – Relaxed Round, Individual Posing Round, Mandatory Round.

Relaxed Round

The Relaxed Round is designed to show the proportion, shape and balance of the physique in a relaxed state. Competitors are directed to do ¼ turns. The following are important guidelines to correctly doing the Relaxed ¼ turns:

  • Head faces the way your feet are facing
  • Hands at your sides
  • No twisting
  • Feet flat

Individual Posing Round

The Individual Posing Round is the opportunity for the competitors to display their physique by showing their strengths and hiding their weaknesses.

Each pose should emphasize one or more muscle groups and must be held momentarily in order for a judge to assess properly.

There is a time limit of one minute during the Prejudging and 90 seconds in the Finals. No music is used other than background house music.

Mandatory Comparison Round

Competitors are directed to perform the Mandatory Poses. Judges assess muscle size, symmetry and muscularity by comparing one competitor to another.

Criteria For Female Bodybuilders

Judges look for the Total Package – the balance of size, symmetry and muscularity. There are, however, limits to the size of the muscles and the degree of muscularity that are acceptable. Competitors must maintain a feminine look. Extreme hardness and extreme muscle size is not acceptable.

Protect Your Organs:Steroids

With almost all AAS your going to get an increase in red blood cell count, hemoglobin, and hematocrit. This is probably the most widely known side effect and most do nothing to control it. Over time your blood can become very thick causing a variety of cardiovascular diseases. The most common death in “BIG” people are from heart problems. Whether your a bbe’r, power-lifter,etc.. you usually see bros dropping from cardiac issues. A very simple way to fix this problem is to ROUTINELY DONATE BLOOD. You should do it every sixty days. They will tell you your hemoglobin when you get there during the finger prick test. Avg is 14-18.5 18.5 is the max and they wont let you donate if your higher. You should shoot for being in the 15. Multiply your hemoglobin by 3 to get a rough idea of your hematocrit. A hematocrit over 50 is getting too high. So aside from routinely donating blood you should take a baby aspirin nightly and around 8g fish oil. This will keep blood thinner and help prevent clotting and cardiac problems. Another crucial addition is cardio. This will naturally help lower rbc and hematocrit as well as a clean diet.

Next is obviously the liver. It takes a beating by the orals. Personally I don’t think orals are even needed unless your pre contest, but you should take precautions with your liver. Keep orals to lower doses and lower time periods. I prefer a gram of milk thistle and 4 double strength Liv 52′s when using orals. There is ZERO evidence showing that liver aids will negatively effect the absorption of orals so bros who fear their orals will not be as effective need not worry about that.

Cholesterol also takes a beating on aas and unfortunately keeping your HDL higher is one of the hardest things to do. A clean diet with cardio can keep LDL and triglycerides in check but usually even on just hrt the HDL will suffer a bit. Again keep up with the fish oil which will help.

I could go on and on with all the organs and what aas effect them and what to do,etc.. but the real thing is research. Bros need to do more research about their bodies and the negative effects AAS can have. The obvious comes into play that abuse is what will negatively effect you most.

Lastly I wanted to touch on the “psychological” effects. AAS will take whatever type of person you are and magnify it. Its not going to turn a calm person into a roid raging monster. If you have anger naturally it will be amplified on AAS. With time, I feel the most unrecognized side effect of AAS that hasn’t been discovered is how it simply “changes” a person. Most of us AAS users who have done it for years and years know what I’m talking about.. You kinda become a different person. Sometimes nothing becomes good enough, you become selfish, you almost become a little crazy. This can be scary if not controlled. Over 1/2 aas users are on some type of physch meds or ssri’s and there is a good reason why. I feel brain chemistry can change over years of AAS abuse. Stuff that doctors don’t know about yet. Nobody has researched it because it’s such a small population. Just remember to remember who you are. You can easily slip into a black hole of selfishness that will take away everything you love in a matter of minutes if your not careful.

Steroid Abuse: A Closer Look

Anabolic/Androgenic steroids are used by a wide variety of people,both young and old, in the United States and other countries. Popularity of the drugs have been spread out a great amount and have caused some hype throughout the media and Internet at various sources. It’s not nearly a problem such as heroin, cocaine, ecstasy, or prescription pills but does cause a threat to society according to several resources. Why is this such a huge issue? Many people get the wrong idea of the negative effects because they only see what they hear. Of course, on the news they will blast reports of steroid abuse and that they hung their children or killed there wife. How about that there have never been any proven evidence that these drugs have cause any harm whatsoever? Never….not once has it ever been proven. Short term side effects have been proven, and long term ones have not been clarified yet.
All of the drama associated with steroid use, but what about the positive effects that have not hardly been discussed? Would you want to go to a baseball game and not see powerful beasts that inhumanly hit a ball thousands of feet out of the stadium? Or how about go to a football game and the players were scrawny and hit like sissies? Exactly! Steroids have made some of these guys go beyond their genetic limitation and enter a whole different side of sports. The sport scene has grown in popularity also over the years and players somehow get better every year. Why is this? Steroids have given them the edge to become what they normally couldn’t.
Short term side effects include acne,mild aggression, patterns of baldness, excessive hair growth(body), temporary raised blood pressure, deepened voices and enlarged clits in females, and smaller testes in men.
If you ever took a look at any prescription medicine bottle and read the side effects, this would seem like a jolly rancher compared to those. Testosterone, the most used steroid in the world, is extremely safe and effective to the user. Inject-able steroids have a 5% pass through rating on the liver which means that only 5% of the compound even touched filtration in the liver. However, oral steroids such as dianabol,anadrol,oral tren, etc… have a 75% filtration effect. Obviously, if your trying to be safe and not have any liver complications, an inject-able would be the better option for you.
Long term effects have not been proven as of yet. I can say that there was several guys in their late 70′s that have claimed on national interviews, that they have been using anabolics for the past thirty years and say they are healthier then ever and have never planned on living that long of a life span without them. This is probably true considering there are several health benefits when taken the proper way.
Steroids taken the proper way means using a liver aid such as Liv 52 the entire cycle and afterwards, a proper safe regimen, and a proper post cycle therapy. There have never been any reported deaths when the above mentioned were followed. Usually the problem consists of young athletes who refuse to educate themselves on the harmful effects when used improperly. Such examples would be injecting improperly, nasty infections from lack of cleanliness or proper sterilization procedures, and already pre-existing medical conditions that were unknown due to steroid use.
When we hear about steroid abuse, what does this mean? Steroid abuse is characterized by using ungodly amounts of a substance without properly cycling on and off. Anyone who has used for long periods of times know that there are consequences to such actions. When you introduce a compound to your body that has synthetic properties it sends a signal to shut off all you natural capabilities. Your testes are one of the most important meaning you can not produce testosterone or sperm anymore once the chemical is fully introduced. There are ways to keep these levels going which would be under the category of “safe steroid use”. HCG would be one the above mentioned and is actually found in pregnant woman.
HCG, is not an anabolic/an-drogenic steroid but a natural protein hormone which develops in the placenta of a pregnant woman. HCG is manufac-tured from the urine of pregnant women since it is excreted in un-changed form from the blood via the woman’s urine, passing through the kidneys. The commercially available HCG is sold as a dry substance and can be used both in men and women. in women inject-able HCG allows for ovulation since it influences the last stages of the development of the ovum, thus stimulating ovulation. In a man HCG stimulates pro-duction of androgenic hormones (testosterone). For this reason athletes use inject-able HCG to increase the testosterone produc-tion. HCG is often used in combination with anabolic/androgenic steroids during or after treatment. Since the body usually needs a certain amount of time to get its testosterone-one production going again, the athlete, after discontinuing ste-roid compounds, experiences a difficult transition phase which often goes hand in hand with a considerable loss in both strength and muscle mass. Administering HCG directly after steroid treat-ment helps to reduce this condition because HCG increases the testosterone production in the testes very quickly and reliably. In the event of testicular atrophy caused by mega doses and very long periods of usage, HCG also helps to quickly bring the testes back to their original condition (size). Since occasional injections of HCG during steroid intake can avoid a testicular atrophy, many athletes use HCG for two to three weeks in the middle of their steroid treatment. It is often observed that during this time the athlete makes his best progress with respect to gains in both strength and muscle mass. Those who are on the juice all year round, who might suffer psychological consequences or who would perhaps risk the breakup of a relationship because of this should consider this drawback when taking HCG in regular in-tervals. A reduced libido and spermatogenesis due to steroids, in most cases, can be successfully cured by treatment with HCG.
So, an overall analysis of what we have just mentioned would be that steroids when taken the safest and proper ways can not be harmful to your liver if you are educated and have the necessary tools to do things the right way. As with any drug, a pre-existing condition would be asking for trouble but as long as your a healthy adult, it can benefit you in many ways.
I am living proof as to complications of the liver due to steroid abuse. I had a liver biopsy a few months back and found that I have a pre-existing medical condition of the liver which will eventually kill me. After a fe long months of continued use, i was checked again. My results came back as the steroids were not at all hurting the effects. My liver was in the exact same place and damage as it was several months before the steroid cycle. Steroid abuse could be highly stoppable if users in today’s society would take the time to educate themselves and use the proper way to administer and use the drugs safely. Over time we will notice that there can be nothing but positive reviews as long as we all follow the safety guidelines and take the proper precautions.

The Inside Look At Winstrol-V

I tend to shy away from straight “information” articles- in other words, I’ve never written the “How Androgens Work” article, because I’ve read it several times by several authors, and I really have nothing to add. Gene Transcription and Androgen Receptor Action has been written about over, and over, ad nauseum. All of the articles I’ve read on the topic are well written and well- they’re all the same. Don’t get me wrong, all of the articles which discuss the topic are very informative, but when you’re done reading them, you don’t really have anything you can “use” in your next cycle.

And I’m sure you know the difference between orals and injectables, but do yourself a favor and read this article, because I’m going to explain some things in here that you can use in your next cycle. Actually, I’m going to explain how you can use Winstrol (Stanozolol) as either an oral or injectable, and get a very different set of effects from the same drug- depending on which route of administration you choose to utilize.

First, lets go over the basics of Winstrol, so we’re all on the same page here.

Winstrol is a steroid derived from the base structure of Dihydrotestosterone (DHT). DHT is just testosterone which has been 5alpha-reduced, meaning it has had the c4-5 double bond removed by two hydrogen atoms. This is very interesting from a chemical/biological standpoint. Once this bond is removed, testosterone has become DHT, and DHT is the body’s most potent androgen. DHT has a slew of beneficial effects which are more pronounced than the hormone it’s created out of. DHT is able to increase androgen receptor proliferation for almost 24 full hours (1) DHT also has profound effects on the Central Nervous System (CNS), and this is why we often see profoundly increased aggression with athletes who are using DHT derivatives such as Masteron (which has a deceivingly low anabolic and androgenic rating). As an added benefit, DHT can not aromatize (convert via the aromatase enzyme) into estrogen. It’s also noteworthy that the injectable version of Winstrol is actually the same exact thing as the oral- it’s just micronized Stanozolol  powder suspended in water (or sometimes oil).

So what we have in Winstrol is DHT with two modifications- an added c17 methylation, and a very weird “pyrazol” group. The c17 methylation has been added in order to allow Winstrol to survive oral ingestion and the subsequent first pass through the liver. The pyrazol group is a bit weirder- what this means to you and I is that it has another whole “ring” attached to the four ring Steran Nucleus of DHT. Take a look over at the lower left portion of the two molecules below, and you’ll notice that Winstrol has an added cyclopentane (5 sided) group (the pyrazol group):

When we really take a look at Winstrol, the anabolic rating of this product is very high (320% that of testosterone) as compared to its androgenic actions (30% of testosterone). Despite this, Winstrol is really a disappointing drug for size gains. What we typically see with this stuff is some pretty decent strength gains and some nice fat loss if the user isn’t too sloppy with their diet. Not many people report huge weight gains off of Stanozolol. Although many drugs which bind tightly to the androgen receptor are suspected to exhibit their at least some of their lipolytic (fat-burning) effects through receptor binding affinity.  The effects of androgens on the regulation of lipolysis in adipose precursor cells.(2), Winstrol remains a potent cutting drug, despite the fact that it has a relatively weak AR binding ability (3). What this tells me is that there’s some stuff going on with regards to Winstrol’s mechanism of action, which doesn’t involve androgen receptor mediated effects. Still, Winstrol is a very potent compound for enhancing protein synthesis (4-5 ) .

As previously discussed, it’s derived from DHT, and DHT is known to have ant-estrogenic effects (6) and Winstrol itself also has anti-progestenic properties (in at least some cases, where it may “block” that receptor) (7). So I think it’s safe to say that some of the “hard” look you can get in your physique from Winstrol is because of it’s ability to inhibit estrogen and progesterone- known culprits in making a physique appear smooth. Unfortunately, since it is 17aa, it is also liver toxic, especially more so when you inject it and it is subject to what is known as the “first pass” through the liver. The difference between taking oral vs. injectable Winstrol, even though it’s technically the same drug, is how and when your body metabolizes it. When you consume a drug orally, that drug is absorbed from the Gastrointestinal tract, where it then passes via the portal vein into the liver -where some drugs are metabolised. This “first pass” can mean that only a certain portion of the drug reaches your body’s bloodstream. As previously discussed, a 17aa has been attached to Winstrol to allow a sizeable portion to survive this metabolism.

First pass metabolism can occur in both the gut and the liver, and where this happens can vary with different drugs. First pass metabolism actually occurs in your gut for some drugs and in the liver for others. Once it has been metabolized, it enters the bloodstream. It’s important to note that when a blood is metabolized in the Gastrointestinal tract, the blood leaving the Gastrointestinal tract does not go right to the heart, but actually still passes through liver via the hepatic portal vein and then ultimately returns to circulation via the hepatic vein. The liver is your body’s filtration unit, and removes large quantities of nutrients, dangerous toxins (or fun toxins, depending on what they are) and other substances from the blood.

So as you can see, when you take an oral steroid such as Winstrol, undergoes a first-pass metabolism in the both the intestines as well as liver. Some drugs can be absorbed more or less totally intact, after only moderate metabolic activity, while some are absorbed only after very extensive metabolic activity. Once it is through this first pass, a given drug then circulates in the blood until it is acquired by another tissue, such as skeletal muscle. Now, if the drug reaches the liver again, it may undergo what is cleverly known as “second-pass” metabolism. Of course, in the case of Winstrol, an injectable version is available, and when we compare the oral and injectable versions of Winstrol and their effects in your body, I think there’s some surprising differences. The injectable is (naturally) put right into your bloodstream and only undergoes the far less extensive second pass metabolism, while the oral must endure the gut and liver on it’s first pass before ending up in circulation.

Now, here’s the interesting part: When you inject Winstrol, instead of taking it orally, you actually get more nitrogen retention (4) (and hence we can infer, more new muscle tissue is being built). SO if you are trying to use Winstrol to build new muscle tissue, the injectable version is going to be far superior to the Oral version. However, there are some advantages that the oral version has over the injectable, including a possible “synergy” with other drugs- but only (primarily) when taken orally.

While in the liver, on it’s first pass, Winstrol is exposed to a variety of enzymes and proteins. To understand how a possible synergy between Winstrol and other steroids may be possible, a little background on Sex Hormone Binding Globulin (SHBG) is first necessary. For our purposes here, all we need to know is that SHBG is a glycoprotein produced in the liver, which binds to testosterone and makes it biologically unavailable to do all the things we want it to do- like building muscle. It serves to transport testosterone throughout the body, but while it remains bound to testosterone, the testosterone can not exert it’s anabolic effects.

As you can surmise, a very large portion of the testosterone in your body is bound to SHBG. Wouldn’t it be great if we could lower SHBG? With Winstrol we can.

A fairly conservative oral dose of .2mg/kg of Winstrol has been shown to lower SHBG by close to 50%. (8)For me (200lbs) this would mean I would only need around 18mgs/day to free up half of my SHBG bound testosterone! For my omnipresent and hypothetical “100kg bodybuilder”- only 20mgs would be needed (he’s 220 lbs for the metrically impaired among us). Now, with less SHBG floating around in me, my anabolic steroid cycle will be more effective, right? Right.

But why can we only expect such a dramatic lowering of SHBG with the oral? Well, obviously, we’re taking advantage of the first pass through the liver, where we can have our Winstrol interact with SHBG where it’s produced- in the liver…without going through the bloodstream first.

When we take a look at a study done comparing injectable vs. oral contraceptives, we find that the oral version at 70mgs/week (10mgs/day given orally) is more effective at affecting SHBG levels than 400mgs/week given via an injection! (9)In this study, testosterone undecanoate was given at a constant dose along with norestisterone (which raises SHBG). What we see is that when norestisterone is given orally, it produces a far greater effect on SHBG, than when it is administered via an injection. And this is even when the doses of the injectable are 4x higher!

Here’s a chart, illustrating exactly what I’m talking about in this study, which I think suggests very strongly that injectable versions of drugs, when compared with the oral version, will have nowhere near as much of an effect on SHBG:

Of course, in this study, they’re looking at oral vs. injectable versions of a SHBG raising drug- but what we can take away from it is that SHBG interaction with oral compounds is far more pronounced than it is with injectables.

So lets take a small amount of Winstrol with our cycles, and free up some of those steroids we’re taking, right? Right!

Unless of course, we’re talking about women here…I was recently asked why I recommend that women use the injectable version of Winstrol over the oral. I was asked this question by someone, who I assumed had a female friend who was considering using Winstrol. I then realized I was totally incorrect- not about Winstrol, but about the reason behind the question. You see…I saw a picture of the man who had first asked me the question, and it’s readily apparent to me that he probably doesn’t actually know any women. But still, his question is valid and bears repeating and answering here.

I recommend that women avoid the oral version of this product for the same reason that men will find that it gives them an increased synergy and effectiveness in their cycles.

When SHBG is lowered in women, there is more free testosterone floating around. And as we’ve seen, the oral is going to affect SHBG exponentially more than the injectable will. When we lower SHBG too much in women, we see a strong positive correlation with hyperandrogenism (10 ), and hirsuitism (abnormal growth of body hair), as well In fact, non-SHBG-bound testosterone may actually be the defining characteristic for identifying hyperandrogenism in women. In addition, low SHBG contributes to menstrual irregularity.(11)

Finally, and (partially) anecdotally, we also see a greater incidence of clitoral enlargement and acne when the oral version of Winstrol is used by women instead of the injectable. The reasons for this are obvious- When we increase free testosterone by lowering SHBG, we increase the amount of testosterone which is able to be 5a-reduced to DHT. DHT is the primary culprit for steroid induced acne, and is also the hormone responsible for external genital enlargement. Clearly, this is why we see the increased level of clitoral hypertrophy as well as acne when oral Winstrol is used by women.

We can also see increased acne when men use Winstrol orally, but these effects are relatively minor when a 2mg/kg dose is being used to increase the effectiveness of other steroids in a cycle. This isn’t carte blanche to go using Winstrol for an extended period of time under the excuse that it’s increasing the overall effectiveness of the cycle. Stanozolol has some of the worst liver toxicity (hepatoxicity) of any oral steroid on a mg for mg basis. In addition, it’s deleterious effects on your lipid profile (Cholesterol) are also very pronounced, even at low doses- 6mgs/day of Stanozolol can lower HDL (good cholesterol)by 33% and raise LDL (bad cholesterol) by 29% (12 ).

So, hopefully, you’ve reached the end of this article and realized that Winstrol can be used in any cycle to increase the effectiveness of it, but that it must be used sparingly due to it’s possible hepatoxicity and lipid profile effecting properties. Still, when used in heavy testosterone-based profiles, at a dose that will cut your SHBG levels in half, it can increase you other steroids effectiveness quite a bit…but when maximal protein synthesis is wanted, you need to inject it.

There you go…the differences between oral and injectable Winstrol, and how you can use either form to maximize your gains! And yes, Lyle, you can drink Winny.

Safe Steroid Cycles For Quality Gains: Anavar

An anavar cycle is very exciting for the fatty and bulky people as they can loose large quantities of weight and can also burn  fat very easily but the  true thing is that when one starts to have the cycle then it should be followed properly and in time. In summer, the weight conscious people can go to beach without any hesitation as they can keep themselves cool and without fat as this steroid has the capacity to burn all the fat in the body off these  people. Anavar Dosages:

In fact, 20-80mgs are needed to start halting AIDS related wasting and recovering weight for burn victims  so that´s the range I´d recommend keeping your dosages in concerning this compound. Personally, I´d use 100mgs/day if I were ever going to try this stuff. Any less than this amount (20-100mgs) would be a waste. For women, however, I think 2.5-10mgs/day would suffice. Virilization is not a concern with this compound, as it is only very mildly androgenic .

Although Anavar is an oral steroid, and has been alpha-alkylated to survive oral ingestion and the first pass through the liver, it´s still relatively mild in that respect too…, the unique chemical configuration of oxandrolone both confers a resistance to liver metabolism as well as noticable anabolic activity. It would also appear that Anavar appears not to exhibit the serious hepatoxic effects (jaundice, cholestatic hepatitis, peliosis hepatis, hyperplasias and neoplasms) typically attributed to the C17alpha-alkylated AASs.  Anavar has even been used successfully in some studies to heal cutaneous wounds , or to improve respiratory function . Both of these novel properties could make it a good choice for in-season use for boxers, Mixed Martial Arts competitors, and other such athletes.

The best advice I can give you is to think about starting off with a small dosage to see how your body responds, if it responds well then try to up the dosa a little bit until you find what works best for you. If you feel comfortable and your health is good, then by all means throw in another compound if you’d like. Just remember always that safety comes first; never put your health at risk for something that can be easily avoidable. Good luck!

The secrets of training that pros won’t tell the regular gym guru, I WILL!

TRAINING:

Secrets to the training aspect are fairly simple. The biggest mistake that amateurs make is that they do not listen to their body. If you need a break,then take it. If you feel you need more fluids, drink it. If you need more gear, then do it. Alot of the game is all in listening just as it is in school, you must listen to learn. Shocking your bod into different plateaus is what it begs for. One week if your doing squats for legs then switch it up the next week and do lunges and leg presses instead. Also, if your doing pyramid training one week, then switch to high rep low weight sets the next, and then maybe do high weight low rep the next. You just have to keep your muscle guessing into what’s coming next. You hear of a ton of bodybuilders saying they do not get sore anymore; this is bad, very bad. If your not getting sore, your not growing, simple as that. When the muscle breaks down and tears, it rebuilds itself during sleep and recuperation, hence, getting sore. Your post workout shake is a MUST after every hardcore session, right away.

Sleep:

The average Joe only gets about 6 to 7 hours of sleep per night. This is simply not enough and in order to have optimal results, you need optimal sleep. HGH (Human Growth Hormone) is a perfect way to get the REM sleep needed to grow into your full potential. If your pocket allows for the money to supply it, then by all means, it’s well worth it. If you can’t get the much needed 8 full hours of sleep at night because of life’s circumstances, then try to set aside the extra time for a nap sometime during the day, it will tremendously boost your energy and training.

Gear:

I usually will not even touch on this subject because alot of people take my advice as a “go ahead” to start using. So before I tell you, this is not me telling you to go ahead and do it. Gear is only used or should only be used once your genetics have fully maxed out. Anabolics are only going to do what you want them to do if there is nothing else stopping it. What do I mean? Your diet has to be dead on, your sleep has to be perfect, your genetics have to be worn thin from natural bodybuilding, and you have to have the time, money, patience, and the right attitude. Steroids are not for people that just want to hurry up and slab on fifty pounds, so everyone at school likes them! If you are ready and have exhausted your options then a good start would be to follow a simple beginner’s cycle. A anabolic, a androgenic, and a good anti-estrogen. Therefore, the cycle would always contain a testosterone base and maybe deca would be a great choice to run with it,and nolvadex as your anti-e.  Before starting this be sure to read up on as much information as possible, so you know what to expect and what your putting into your body.

Nutrition:

Nutrition is key. My outlook on things are much different then you have heard in the past. The difference is that mine is based on living longer and healthier, and also I have a master’s degree in nutrition to back this up. Protein intake should be 0.8 kg per kg of body weight. (your weight in lbs. divided by 2.2 will give you your weight in kgs). Now this sounds low right? It’s been proven many times that caloric intake is a must to build muscle,therefore, you must keep your calories high if your following this regimen. The protein intake I have listed is because the body simply can not handle digesting 500 grams of protein a day! It’s insane to hear about these guys taking in that much per day. Trust me when i say, your liver will not last long eating like this. Keep your carbohydrates fairly high too, 150 to 200 grams per day is adequate for gaining weight and muscle. Eating clean is the best you can do for your body. When I say eat clean, this means to simple eat home cooked meals and limit your butter, oil, and nasty cooking greases. You want to eat high quality protein from sources like fish, lean beef, chicken, and certain sea-foods. Always keep you carbs mostly eaten during the day to stop from fat forming at night. Sodium should be less then 1000 mg per day, otherwise you will retain too much water especially if you on AAS also. Water intake should always be above 1 gallon per day. In the summertime, you should consume more due to the heat causing you to perspire more often. Remember, nutrition is the most important, if you eat like crap, you will look like crap.

This is just a small portion of how to successfully train and bodybuild, you should always do as much research as possible with any questions that you have. Some people keep log books and other’s don’t. Some people do alot of things that others don’t, so have fun with it and find what works best for you.

Weight Loss The Right Way

When you think of weight loss and losing weight, the first things that probably come to your mind are either those “lose weight fast !!” articles that are in every magazine and newspaper in the world that never work and are written by some personal training idiot that has no idea what they’re talking about… or maybe you’re thinking of all of those weight loss pills that claim to be safe and allow you to “eat whatever you want and still lose weight because the pill will do all of the work for you” or whatever stupid line they are using to get you to buy their useless unsafe weight loss product. Or, maybe you’re thinking of rice cakes and never eating and being hungry all day long.

Well, if you are thinking any of those things, forget it! Forget all of it!

What I am about to give you is totally FREE, detailed, easy to understand information on weight loss and losing weight and how to lose weight and fat without using any type of pill or supplement, without using some “fitness magazine” diet, and by eating not 1, not 2, not 3, but 5 meals a day! Sound impossible? Sound too good to be true? Sound like I’m going to make you buy my “book” or order my “product” first before I tell you? Well I’m not! I don’t have a book and I don’t a have product. I am not trying to sell you a damn thing! What I am trying to do, no… what I am GOING to do, is tell you exactly how you can lose weight. Enjoy…

Weight loss is simple, burn more calories then you consume. If you can fully understand that then you are on your way to losing weight. There are 6 simple steps. Here they are:

1) Count how many calories you eat in a normal day. That’s right, wake up, and eat like you would normally eat and count the calories in everything you eat and everything you drink and keep track of it on a piece of paper or on the computer some where. You might be thinking to yourself, “yeah right, I’m not gonna sit around counting calories all day.” Well, if you’re thinking that, then you’re obviously not dedicated enough to losing weight. If this is the case, then feel free to go waste your money on the newest useless weight loss pill. But, if you are dedicated enough to take 10 minutes out of your day and count the calories, then keep on reading.

2) At the end of that day, add up the number of calories you ate/drank. Be as exact as possible. Once you add it all up, you now have the total number of calories you consume daily. Also, weigh yourself.

3) Starting the day after you counted calories, eat 500 calories LESS then you normally do. So, lets pretend that the day you counted calories you counted 2000. For the rest of the week, you would eat 1500 calories a day. Understand? All you have to do is subtract 500 from the total number of calories you consume in a normal day, and eat this new number of calories every day for the next 7 days.

4) Instead of eating 3 big meals a day (breakfast, lunch and dinner), or eating all day all the time, spread those calories out over 5 smaller meals. Eat one meal every 2 and a half to 3 hours. Doing this will speed up your metabolism.

5) Cardio. Cardio is an important part of weight loss. If you’re serious about losing weight, but don’t want to do the cardio workouts, then you are requiring your diet to do all of the work. Jog, walk, swim, jump rope, ride a bike, take an aerobics class, whatever… cardio + proper diet = better than just doing one of the two. All it takes is 30 minutes a day, 3 – 5 days a week. I say 3-5 days a week because I don’t know if you have 5 pounds to lose, or if you have 50 pounds to lose. So, depending on how much your looking to lose, figure it out. 3 times a week is good starting point though.

6) At the end of that week, weigh yourself. You’ll notice a difference just after one week! Now, don’t expect to see a 20 pound difference. Losing anymore then 1 or 2 pounds a week is unhealthly. So look for a 1 or 2 pound weight loss at the end of the week. Don’t sound like much? You can lose 5-8 pounds a month! That’s around 75lbs a year! So if you have A LOT of weight to lose, you can lose it. If have just a few pounds to lose, you can lose it.

- THE BAD FAT MUST GO! Stay away from "bad" fat! Get rid of all the chips and candy. No more fast food, nothing fried. No more cookies, no more cake, no more of these saturated fats. There is no question about it and there is no way around it, get rid of these types of foods. Don't get me wrong, you should NOT be eating 0 grams of fat every day, but the only places you should be getting your daily fat intake from are lean meats (not the fried fast food kind), chicken (again, not fried!), etc. as well as the foods that contain the "healthy" types of fat, which can be found in just about every type of fish.

- LOWER THE BAD CARBS! Most people think that it is fat that makes people fat and that just by eating less fat, they are on their way to weight loss! WRONG! Certain carbs can be just as bad as fat when it comes to losing weight. Limit foods high in bad carbs. These carbs will eventually turn into fat. Foods like sugar, white bread, rice, pasta, potatoes, etc. are high in simple (bad) carbs. Sure, your body needs carbs, which is why foods like these are ok to eat, but don't go overboard. Stick to high protein/good carb/low fat foods like tuna fish (and other seafood), chicken breast, turkey, whole grains, fruits and vegetables etc.

- WATER! Drink water! Get rid of the soda, get rid of the beer, and get rid of the sports drinks. Drink around a half gallon a day, more if you can. Spread it out throughout the day, just like your 5 meals. Yes that's a lot of water, but it's that water that will give you energy and speed your weight loss.

- STRENGTH TRAINING! YES! Weightlifting isn't just great for muscles, it's great for losing weight. Muscles burn calories.

- Weigh yourself at the end of every week. If you ever have more then 2 weeks go by without losing 1 pound, it's time to change something. Eat 250 less calories then you've been eating. And keep everything else the same. Each time you see weight loss stop for more then 2 weeks, decrease calorie intake by 250 until you get down to where you want to be. Remember, NEVER starve yourself!

- Sleep! YES! Sleep! The easiest, yet most over looked step. Get at least 8 hours of sleep a night. Trust me, you're gonna need it!

There you have it. You now know everything you need to know about losing weight. You didn't have to buy any weight loss pills or books on losing weight, instead, you should use the money you just saved and go buy some good food or a gym membership.

Now, I never once said this would be easy. If it was easy, you would have done it already. Losing weight isn't something you can just do "on the side."  You are going to have to dedicate your mind and body and your time to doing it! So, you now have the information you need, all you have to do now is use it.

Gaining Weight For Bodybuilders

Weight gain is something that isn’t easy to do and you probably know this already. I know first hand because it is something I have to do every day. I am an ectomorph by genetics, which is the “skinny body type” and the one with the fast metabolism which makes gaining so hard for guys like me. The key to weight gain is to do everything BIG. You have to eat big, to lift big, to get big. Say that over and over again in your head until you fully understand it. A lot of people think weightlifting is the key to gaining weight, and I won’t argue, it is an extremely important part. BUT, there is another thing that is just as important when it comes to how to gain weight, and that is your diet.

So, to put it as simply as possible, there are 5 simple steps to how to gain weight, and here they are:

1) Count how many calories you eat in a normal day. Don’t change anything, just eat like you normally would and count how many calories you consumed. This is an extremely important step, so try to be as exact as possible. Also, weigh yourself.

2) Starting the day after you counted calories, eat 500 calories MORE then you normally do. So, lets pretend that the day you counted calories you counted 2000. For the rest of the week, you would now eat 2500 calories a day. Instead of eating 3 big meals a day or eating all day all the time, spread those calories out over 5-6 smaller meals. Eat one meal every 2 and a half to 3 hours. To get big, you have to eat big! Remember that.

3) Weightlifting! Get in the gym and lift! This is another important step to how to gain weight, so make sure you are doing it correctly.

5) Heres an important one. At some point, you will stop seeing weight gain. At this point, you will have to eat even more. So, when you stop gaining for at least 2 weeks, it means it is time to start eating an extra 250 calories a day. Every time you see you haven’t gained weight for at least 2 weeks, add an extra 250 calories.

- Stay away from bad fat! Even though weight gain is your goal, you don’t want to be gaining fat and eating junk. Get rid of the chips and candy. No more fast food, nothing fried. Stick to high protein, low (saturated) fat foods like fish, chicken breast, turkey, lean meats, rice, pasta, fruits and vegetables,and nuts.

- Track your progress! Weighing yourself once a week is extremely important, but so is figuring out if the weight you are gaining is muscle or fat. In order to know this information, you will have to monitor your BF%.

- WATER! Drink water! Drink around a  gallon a day, more if you can. Yes that’s a lot of water, but it’s that water that will give you the energy you need to gain that weight!

- Sleep! YES! Sleep! The easiest, yet most over looked step. Get at least 8 hours of sleep a night. You’re gonna need it!
